Tasters Welcome

Tasting notes for Glen Scotia 14 year old

Distillery bottling
43% a.b.v.

The spirit does not actually contain NaCl, of course, but it comes across as overwhelmingly salty. A lot of excitement in the palate. Flavors of brine, burnt toast, some peat. Late palate and finish show significant mineral flavors, like Perrier. Reminiscent of Dead Sea bath salts. The “saltiness” keeps me from truly enjoying this by itself. The only time I have been able to mask this effect was to have it alongside Pizza Hut “Stuffed Crust” pizza; if you are familiar with the salinity of this, you will appreciate what I’m talking about.

Suggested for:
Definitely with salty foods
